There is a lot of knowledge to be gained through training, which you wouldn’t normally need to simply drive a regular car. The experienced instructors at CDL Book Club will make sure that you have the physical ability and skill to do the job right. Depending on the type of truck you’ll be driving, you’ll need either a Class A or Class B CDL license. You can get the training you need right here, and we’ll help you with job placement after you complete the course. There is a lot to be gained from a career, so take the first step today.
These are the differences between the two commercial licenses:
Class A License
With a Class A commercial license, you are allowed to operate a vehicle with a semi-trailer of two or more axles and a weight or more than 26,000 pounds.
These driver’s licenses are for vehicles that require more training and skill to operate, such as:
- Trailer and truck combinations
- Tractor trailers
- Tractor trailer buses
- Triple and double trailers
- Livestock carriers
- Tanker vehicles
Class B License
A driver with a CDL-B is able to operate a vehicle with a weight of more than 26,000 pounds, and one that’s towing another trailer or vehicle that weighs no more than 10,000 pounds.
Class B CDL training allows drivers to maneuver the following types of vehicles:
- Box trucks for deliveries
- Straight trucks
- Dump trucks with small trailers
